Hiking

The Columbia Gorge is a National Scenic area. That mean, in case it’s not obvious from the wording, that it’s pretty. Scenic areas contain all sorts of prettiness, and the Gorge is no exception, with waterfalls, stunning views, rock formations and a chance to witness the power of weird weather phenomena.

As with the rest of this website, this section is an endless work in progress, but here are some of the Gorge’s must-do hikes:

Tamanawas Falls: 3.8 miles, easy
Dog Mountain:6 miles, hard
Eliot Glacier from Cloud Cap:~4 miles, hard
Falls Creek:4 miles, easy
Indian Heaven:Lots of options, moderate to really hard
