It's another late weekend forecast from Mt. Hood Meadows, where the sun is peaking through, the snow is flying, the temp is dropping, and the upper level winds are ripping. If you'd like to ski or ride this weekend, I suggest you do it today. The latest forecast for Sunday calls for temps in the single digits and strong winds. As we all know, forecasts are wrong sometimes, but at the worst, you[ll get two days on the hill and not just one if you come up now.
But I know all of you are waiting patiently for tomorrow's wind forecast. 35+ seems reasonable at Stevenson and 45+ seems likely at Rooster. If you have a death wish, head out on the river tomorrow. Otherwise, come have a cocoa at Meadows with me.
As for snow in town, it's going to be cold enough for the next 5 days. Precipitation models don't show much moisture headed our way, unfortunately, meaning we're probably limited to a trace here and a trace there, at least in town, and probably on the mountain slopes as well.
If you can stay warm, the mountain biking and trail running is going to be awesome for the next week, with hard-frozen and fast-riding trails. If you run into Ranger Jim while you're out there, thank him for all his hard work. And if you're the person who chainsawed the tree off Seven Streams yesterday around 2:30, thank you!

Have a great day today!
